Small Groups

Are you part of a Small Group within our Large Church?

Being part of a Small Group in a Large Church is the way to feel loved, cared for, connected, inspired, challenged…

The real care and life of the church is experienced in the House Church/Small Group… this setting is where a person is given the opportunity to experience intimate pastoral care, on-going spiritual growth, and meaningful friendships.

We believe that in our House Churches/Small Groups you will find acceptance, a place to grow deeper in your relationship with Christ, friends who want to share in your celebrations and difficulties and to help when there is a need, and a place where relationships go to deep spiritual levels. You will also find fun-loving friends for hanging-out and a place to explore your spiritual gifts and opportunities to use them.

Within the context of a Small Group you will be able to experience all that Christ has planned for you and find true enjoyment in living-out your personal, unique Kingdom role with other authentic believers!!!

Purpose Statement for our House Church/Small Groups:

1.  Provide an opportunity for everyone to become connected to Jesus Chirst and His Church through fellowship with others in a close-knit group.

2.  Provide an atmosphere where people are genuinely accepted, protected, valued and loved.

3.  Provide an atmosphere that promotes in-depth study of Scripture and application to daily life.

4.   Provide an opportunity to explore one’s Spiritual Gifting and the change to exercise those gifts.

5.   Provide an opportunity and environment for outreach service beyond the Small Group setting.

If you do not yet belong to a Small Group, please pick up the current Small Groups brochure at the Welcome Center on Sunday for a listing of  groups to consider. We know you won’t be sorry if you step out of your comfort zone and get involved with a group of caring people!  We are confident that one of these groups will be a fit for you and your schedule.

We are always in need of new Small Group Leaders for new groups waiting to form. Is the Lord calling you to use your time and Kingdom gifting as a Small Group Leader?

Grace Fellowship Church Shrewsbury began with one Small Group of eight adults.  That number doubled, then tripled and keeps on getting larger. Why? Because members of that first group, and all subsequent groups, understand that they exist for something bigger than themselves.

They know that, while they are loving each other well, there are countless people around them every day who have never experienced the gift of fellowship with God’s people. People who have never experienced:  having friends to lean on during a difficult time, worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth with a small group of friends, being able to call someone who cares to confess a sin or get help and support for a struggling marriage or a wayward child…

We can take so much for granted as followers of Jesus, but we need to remember that there are so many lost & disconnected people in our culture today, and that these people matter to our Lord!
